Character Name:Zeus
Sex: Male
age:perhaps old as time itself?
Position: Good, although he often does things that may be construed as evil.
God/Mortal/Amazon/centaur/valkery,Exct: God, particularly King of the Gods
Appearance: Although it should be noted that unlike the majority of the gods that seem to have "true" forms, Zeus has come in the guise of many, more often than not that of an older sage like man, likely only used for the company of his son to seem wiser and more seasoned than he would other mortals, if in fact he gave them the supremely grandiose honor of his visage.
In the legend of Semele it is said that Zeus cannot reveal himself in his true splendor to mortals, in doing so to Semele he caused her to burst into lightning ignited flames.
Thus the dark haired, fair eyed tall form, decked out in the most beautiful robes and jeweled rings he normally is in is probably a "watered down" version of his actual form, in that it may be closest to his splendor he can take without destroying any mortals who might be unfortunate enough to glance at him.
Personality: Of all the gods Zeus is; ironically, the most easy and approachable of the group. He often and frequently makes sojourns to earth, wherein he will flirt with pretty women and cure the ailed of their maladies, and as he would often tell Hercules "you don't see the other gods dropping in on their children, do you?"
However for his pluses, from his joviality and fun he can be both vengeful, and single minded, for instance when deciding it was better policy to kill the unborn child of Xena than allow the Ancient Olympian Pantheon to fall to ruin.
Zeus seems to be one of the few gods critical of other gods and agrees with Hercules when he describes how gods are, and for his part, Zeus always tried to be kinder to people, and cared about them far more than other god.
Of all of his personality traits, and quirks his two most prominent are his love for his son Hercules, often coming to him to warn him of danger, going so far as to call him his favorite son and even turning back time, incurring the possible wrath of other deities, to allow Hercules to save lives, as well as nearly killing himself to die with Hercules.
The other being his flirtatious nature, he has populated much of the world with his spawn from many a women, from titans, nymphs, and even human women. He seems to be a consummate lover of women and has yet to find one he couldn't have, maybe resisting the charms of the creator of the universe is beyond any women.
History: The absolute earliest accounts of Zeus are beyond known time, when his mother snuck a rock into his cradle so that his father, who had eaten his older siblings for fear that they'd kill him one day, and gave the child up to fate to determine where and how he would be raised.
As a foundling the details of orphan Zeus' life are few and far between, several derivatives of the story are:
Which, if any of these stories is the true one, is unknown, but what is known is the next phase of his life in which he made war upon the Titans for rule of the Gods and the universe.
In the battle between the Olmypian gods and Titans Zeus slew his father Cronus and banished the remaining titans to Tartarus for eternity with a few exceptions (Atlas, Prometheus, Leto) and drew lots with his older brothers Poseidon and Hades for control of the world, Zeus being the mightiest and most fortunate he was given the sky, his brother Poseidon was given the sea, and Hades, the eldest and most unlucky, was given the underworld.
Zeus would of course have many other adventures of his own, including but not limited to defeating the monster Typhon and Echinda, but one of his most important contributions to humanity were the aftermath of his promiscuity, having fathered many a child with other gods, titans, nymphs, mortals, and all other manner of divine being which would populate the world with many a hero to deliver Mankind from other gods petty jealousies and cruelty.
Of these all the most important and his personal favorite was Hercules, fathered by Alchemene, a human woman who he often would describe as "Exquisite" and "Wonderful" during his life Zeus would intermittently drop in on his son and shower him with advice, love and affection, though these visits became fewer and further between as he became older, and due to the rift left by Zeus allowing Hera to kill his family, they did not speak for years.
He would return years later, making Hercules a god after Alchemene's death, although it was later revealed that this might have been to protect Zeus from a "civil war" between the gods, Zeus himself seemed quite tenacious in his claim that it was not a selfish act.
When Xena's baby was born Zeus had to take a stand in an attempt to kill the child and preserve his way of life, his pantheon and his family. This set him at odds with Hercules and even forced him into murdering Hera, and then in direct combat with Hercules.
As before Zeus seemed to overpower his son with (purposeful) non deadly force, but was surprised and somewhat happy that his son was able to strike him down with a bone of Cronus, as he lay dying he told Hercules he'd never stopped being his son, and that he loved him. As the Earth shook violently, the king of the gods seemingly passed from this world.
Whether this was truth or ploy, remains to be seen.
Sample Rp: Zeus had been watching his son for what seemed like the longest of times. He sighed, then watching with gleaming blue eyes, like the most beautiful and clear, flawless sapphires. He supported his elbow on the palm of his opposite hand, and his chin in the other hand.
He smirked then, and disappeared, within a second he had appeared in the house of alchemene as she spoke to the infant child Behave now, while I bathe.
A smirk played onto the perfect teeth of the god and his son looked up to him from his bassinet, her toga falling to the ground as she walked off to the bath, and Zeus's eyes went immediately to her. As she did, little baby Hercules giggled and Zeus lifted him gingerly.
He spoke to him then proudly "Well well well look at this lovely beautiful incredible life we've started here! Little man you have all the potential in the world to live the most wonderful life, and take it from me, treat it like a beautiful woman and take it in, drink it all in and take as much as you like, take a lot of them. I want you to enjoy it all, love it, treasure it, because believe me son, it's the most beautiful, wonderful experience."
He set the boy down and let him play with his fingers then and spoke "Speaking of a beautiful, wonderful experience." he smiled, if only slightly slyly, looking to where he heard Alcamene bathing affixing his long flowing immaculate and beauteous pestle robes. Going in the next room, giggling and splashing could be heard.
Secret Word:A1 Steak Sauce
What you plan on doing with the character: I'd like to have Zeus quest with Hercules, perhaps begin some kind of gambit to regain the influence of the Olympian gods. Perhaps even going so far as a "war" with "The Light" more directly than previously.
I'd rather not use any of the previous actors used for Zeus, on the basis that they've used actors in their 30's for Hades, he being the older of the siblings, while Zeus is the younger, yet played by an elder Antony Quinn, who, while awesome for part, was too old.

- He was then raised by Gaia.
- He was raised by a goat named Amalthea, while a company of
Kouretes— soldiers, or smaller gods— danced, shouted and clashed their spears against their shields so that Cronus would not hear the baby's cry. - He was raised by a nymph named Adamanthea. Since Cronus ruled over the Earth, the heavens and the sea, she hid him by dangling him on a rope from a tree so he was suspended between earth, sea and sky and thus, invisible to his father.
- He was raised by a nymph named Cynosura. In gratitude, Zeus placed her among the stars.
- He was raised by Melissa, who nursed him with goat's-milk and honey.
- He was raised by a shepherd family under the promise that their sheep would be saved from wolves.
