Crystal was silent for a moment. This warrior.....Had the power to kill a God. She never had really thought about the meaning of it. Killing a God. This was serious. But, what could have happened for it to be like that? You just wouldn't be born with the power, now would you?
"I think it was something to do with her daughter.....I'm not really sure myself. I guess after prying around in the city unnoticed, you tend to pick up conversations among other villagers. Just rumors, "Crystal said.
Crystal stood staring at the entrance to the Temple, as Talarya gestured for her to go first. She simply nodded, as she walked quietly through the stone columns.
She almost winced as her leather boots almost clicked against the shiny stone floor, but that was all the sounds she could hear. It was very quiet, as far as she could tell. As she walked down the pathway, she noticed more tables full of gifts for Apollo.
Ahead of her, Crystal could see a tall, metal tripod where the Oracle would sit upon. The tripod was stationed over an opening in the floor, where some sort of fumes will drift up and consume the Oracle, allowing her to connect with Apollo himself. The fumes, as Crystal could see, were slowly hazing around the tripod.
"Now what? Maybe the Oracle has a hidden room where she resides?" Crystal asked quietly.

Talarya was silent as they entered the temple; as they walked, the only sound to be heard were the echoes of Crystal's footsteps. She pondered her words as they walked, so this Xena had killed the gods for her daughter, if indeed she had done so.
The pair emerged into an open chamber; at one end of a large room was a kind of weird tripod thing for the Oracle to sit upon, with smoke coming under it from a vent in the floor. As for the Oracle herself, she was nowhere to be seen.
"Now what?” Crystal asked quietly, whispering into her ear. “Maybe the Oracle has a hidden room where she resides?"
Tal looked around and spotted a hidden door in one of the far walls, she gestured to it.
“I guess that would be it,” she whispered back. “We should wait here until she is ready to see us.”
It was almost as if her words were a catalyst; the door opened and a single figure emerged, dressed in the white robes of a priestess of Apollo. The woman seemed to glide as she walked serenely over to sit on the centre of the room. With wave of her hand she motioned for the two women to come closer. Tal gulped nervously and moved towards the Oracle, sensing that Crystal was still by her side and feeling a strange comfort from the support that she provided by her mere presence.
The Oracle pointed to Crystal. “What do you want with the Oracle, child?” She asked.

[[Sorry about my real lame attempt at portraying the Oracle ]] “What do you want with the Oracle, child?” Crystal almost gulped as soon as the Oracle pointed a finger at her. I haven't even thought about what I should say.....As the sound of the Seer's voice, Crystal stepped closer, whilst she locked determined eyes with her. She could almost see the fumes drifting up and consuming her. The trance began. "I-I have come to seek the truth...of those who ordered my father dead, four years ago, "Crystal replied, almost wincing at the echoes she made as the sound bounced off the stone walls, I simply would like to know who was behind it all." Crystal was indeed, nervous. But, she had come here for a reason, and she did not want to leave without an answer. She would be satisfied, with anything the Oracle told her. "Your father was cunning, yet reckless. He did not foresee his collegues treacherous acts against him. He only saw what he wanted to see among them: Loyalty, honor and trust. However, when he was lying on death's door, it was then he realised he was betrayed by those he worked with for years, "The Oracle slowly explained. "The one you seek is none to be reckoned with. He does not work alone, and once you face him, you face the others. Be swift, caution, and stealthy within the Spartan walls if you wish to see the Commander. " "The Commander? He...He was the one to murder my father? He was my father's collegue, and a family friend of ours...." Crystal said sadly. She know the Spartan Commander, and he knows her, which means she must be extra careful if she encounters him, "That is all I need to know." With that, Crystal bowed her head and reflected in what the Oracle had told her. Finally, she knows the face of the killer. Now it's a matter of finding him, and settling the score. Then, the Oracle glanced at Talarya, "What is it that you seek?"

Talarya gulped as the Oracle turned her gaze towards her and asked what she wanted. Stammering out the words, she was eventually able to speak.
"My child was taken from me, I would like to know where to," she paused. "Um, please."
The Seer's eyes glazed over and she began to speak softly.
"What you seek is within the walless city upon the highest hill, seek out the doves and they will lead the way."
Then her eyes focused once more, leaving Talarya to ponder her words, what on earth had all that meant? The Oracle dismissed them with a wave of her and, stood and returned to the chamber she had emerged from.
Tal glanced at her companion before leaving the chamber and heading back out into the noon day sun.
"Did that make any sense to you?" she asked. "Walless city? Highest hill? Doves?" It seemed to her that what she had told Crystal had made a heck of a lot more sense that what she had told her.

Crystal was silent as she followed Talarya back outside of the afternoon sun. What she had just witnessed did not seem real. But, at least it made sense to her. She now knew who the traitor was.
It was then that Crystal broke the silence, "I understand what mine meant, but yours....What city doesn't have walls, and doves? They don't appear quite commonly around these lands...."
Crystal's felt some sympathy towards her friend. Her answer seemed difficult to unearth.

Talarya's face fell at Crystal's word. She had been hoping that the Spartan woman would have known more about the cryptic message that she; after all, Crystal probably knew more about the world then she did.
"I guess that I'll just have to keep on looking then," she replied. "Maybe I'll see something that will make me understand the Oracle's message on my journey."
She paused, the day had been a strange one; meeting Crystal and then the Oracle.
"Would you like me to come with you to Sparta?" she asked. "Maybe I can find something there that will help me?."

Crystal smiled. "I'd love a bit of company. I guess travelling alone for four years really took it's toll.....Maybe the Fates new we would meet, and seek the Oracle together. It has been a very strange day.
She then began to walk slowly out of the Temple, past the Sacred Way and down the hill. With Talarya by her side, she felt more confident and at ease. A compainion on her journey would surely help, even though she was not a warrior.
"Since Sparta is the closest city to Delphi, i'm sure that is a great place to start your search. I know for a fact Sparta does not have walls surrounding the city, however, I can name a few other cities just like that. But, it's a possibility. Now, all we need is to find the doves the Oracle mentioned...."

Talarya brightened slightly when Crystal mentioned that Sparta had no walls, maybe she was right and they had been fated to meet that day and see the Oracle together. Tal was a great believer in fate; the three Moirae all huddled around their loom, weaving the destinies of mankind.
"Shall we rest up tonight or just set off now?" she asked.
She herself was eager to begin travelling, but she didn't know how tired her companion was. Her thoughts began to drift; what would the child look like when she met it; what would it be like; would they even like her? She wondered what kind of life her child would have in Sparta, a city so very different from her own.

[[Crappy ending, I know ]] Crystal thought for a moment as she glanced up at the dim-lit sky. It was sunset already. The sky was painted a beautiful mixed of purples, pinks and reds, as the sun began to dip low in the horizon. "I think it's best if we make camp for tonight, and set off early in the morning, "Crystal finally said, "It's been a very long and eventful day, and we both need the rest." With that, Crystal led Talarya among the trees surrounding the city of Delphi, and settled down to make camp. Crystal had camped there the previous night, and so she had hidden most of her other belongings among the bushes. She helped set up the campfire, and with Talarya's help, set up the sleeping arrangement. It had been a very long day, and both women were exhausted. Both had much to seek in Sparta, and both dreaded their confrontation with the ones they were longing to see. One wanted her long-lost child...the other wanted to seek revenge. But in order to meet their goals, travelling together was best.

[[That ending was cool, Crystal; nicely summed up. Now onto Sparta ;D ]]
